Third Round Interview with Si Woo Kim

Q. 66-66 with a 69 today. How would you rate your play today, Si Woo?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, it's tough day. First six hole, like rain and windy. It play like tough today, but last back nine weather's better and a little bit pressure on the back nine. Yeah, still feels great and then looking forward to tomorrow.

Q. It's been exciting to watch you play this 16th hole over the last two days. First we want to go back to the second round and this is you here with a 9-iron. How special was this moment for you?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, I think about yesterday, like I can't believe it and then still excited, and then pretty close today, too.

Q. Yeah. We're going to show your shot from today as well and the reaction was very similar to the one you had on Friday. Did you think you aced this, too?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, for sure. I see that first bounce and then I thought it go in for sure, but last few feet, just missed it.

Q. Si Woo, I really admire that you could take a shot like that from Corey, who played so well on that opening nine, and never lose your composure and still lead going into the final round. Your thoughts on the day?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, first five, six holes, weather is crazy and it played tough. And then I played with Corey first six holes, crazy, like every shot right on it and then putted good. Just trying hard myself and then a couple of great saves.

Q. And you almost made another hole-in-one. That one really looked like it was in from the tee, didn't it?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, yesterday's I don't feel like it go in, but today's I thought first pitch and then right at it, I thought it go in, but last three feet, just missed it.

Q. Your thoughts about the final round coming up?

SI WOO KIM: Like last three days I'm playing pretty good and then I'm trying to tomorrow, too. A little bit of pressure and nervous, but I did win two times before.

Q. Si Woo, another good round today. Just some comments on today.

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, first like front nine, weather is crazy, that's why playing hard, tough first six holes. Then started bogey and a little bit of pressure on it, but get better, get better. I'm trying hard every time, that's why pretty good back nine.

Q. How about the greens, are the greens softer today?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, I played afternoon yesterday, they were firm, and this morning's way different. Green's a lot of spin and then greens a little bit slow, but last back nine a little bit firmer, too, but yeah.

Q. After your hole-in-one at 16 yesterday, almost again today, just your thoughts on 16 today?

SI WOO KIM: Yeah, I was thinking like yesterday I'm going to try hole-in-one, too, but I hit that great shot, similar, and I thought first bounce and then, oh, that's going to go in, but just missed it.

Q. What were you thinking as your lead started to disappear, when Corey started to make all those birdies?

SI WOO KIM: It's only Saturday, but I just make the bogey first and then Corey's first six holes, everything made it. That's why a little pressure for me. But back nine I'm just trying to hit my shot, just trying to hit my putt. That's why I played better than the first nine.
