Third Round Interview with Scott Brown

Q. Scott, 5-under 67, hot start. Struggled a little bit in the middle of the round, but then finished off pretty good coming down the stretch.

SCOTT BROWN: Yeah, played nicely today. Just kind of plodded my way around. Drove it pretty good, hit some good iron shots and finally made some putts today.

Q. How much are you thinking about Augusta, the opportunity to finally play there?

SCOTT BROWN: I knew you were going to ask that. I mean, I think about it every tournament, so this one doesn't stand out any more than any other. But I know every tournament, if I win it, I can get there, so it's always in the back of my mind.

Q. Comment on the conditions that you faced today, sort of the tale of two nines, I guess.

SCOTT BROWN: Yeah, it was tough this morning. We had some pretty heavy rain there for four, five holes, and then the wind picked up a little bit after that blowing the rain out of it here, and then it got nice there at the end. Just a whirlwind of a day weather-wise really.

Q. And thoughts on tomorrow's final round? You've got a shot.

SCOTT BROWN: Yeah. I mean, yeah, that's what we play for, just to have a shot. Those guys are I'm sure going to play great again, so I've got to go out and shoot another mid 60s number to have a chance. Hopefully, I can get it done.

Q. Just looking ahead to tomorrow, what did the tale of two nines today kind of teach you about this golf course that you can take into tomorrow with similar conditions?

SCOTT BROWN: Yeah, you know, it was pretty receptive early as far as the greens go just because of the rain. It's probably going to dry out a little bit this afternoon and get a little firmer, but I don't see it getting away from them, so I think it will play fairly scorable tomorrow.
