MASTERS INVITEES: (22): Ludvig Åberg, Tommy Fleetwood, Brian Harman, Russell Henley, Max Homa, Johnny Keefer, Si Woo Kim, Michael Kim, Haotong Li, Robert MacIntyre, Hideki Matsuyama, Denny McCarty, Maverick McNealy, Alex Noren, Andrew Novak, Marco Penge, Kristoffer Reitan, J.J. Spaun, Jordan Spieth, Sepp Straka, Nick Taylor, Sami Valimaki. If the winner of the VTO is not already in the Masters, he will receive the final invitation.
TEXAS TIES: There are 15 players in the field who were either born, live or went to school in the state, including Johnny Keefer and Mac Meissner, who both grew up here and went to high school just down the road from TPC San Antonio.
ROOKIES IN THE FIELD: There are currently 16 competitors who will be playing in the VTO for the first time as rookies on the PGA TOUR. There are a total of 22 rookies on TOUR this season.
PGA TOUR WINNERS PAST TWO YEARS: A total of 31 players, who have won on TOUR in the past two years, are in the field including winners this year — Ricky Castillo (Puerto Rico Open).
TOTAL PGA TOUR WINS: As a whole, the field has accumulated 195 career PGA TOUR victories. Jordan Spieth leads the group with 13 victories followed by Hideki Matsuyama (11).
MAJOR CHAMPIONS: There are eight major championship winners in the field and four of those — Brian Harman, JJ Spaun, Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker— have also won the VTO.
PAST CHAMPIONS: Along with defending champion Brian Harman, those on the past champions list who are back in town are J.J. Spaun (2022), Charley Hoffman (2016), Jimmy Walker (2015).
MONDAY QUALIFIERS: The final two qualifying spots in the field were up for grabs today at the Fair Oaks Ranch and Country Club today. Nick Hardy, 66, Jupiter, FL and Charlie Crockett, 67, New Braunfels, TX earned spots in the 132-player field.
INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: There are 55 players from 21 different countries in the field.
