Interview with Ken Tackett (PGA TOUR Chief Referee)
Q. Man of the hour for the PGA TOUR, Ken Tackett. We've been full of updates today trying to get this third round in. What is the latest you can tell us? Are you going to send the guys home or do we have any more hope for today?
KEN TACKETT: Yeah, we're done for the day, Dan. The golf course just can't take anymore. We're already over an inch of rain. The prediction was somewhere around a quarter. We thought the front was going to come through quick and we would be playing golf in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the system has stalled out on us and we continue to get these heavy showers with some embedded lightning.
Q. So as we continue to play catch‑up, what's the game plan for tomorrow getting this whole thing in? What's the weather like as well we should ask? There's a little bit of showers in the morning forecasted?
KEN TACKETT: The weather is not great tomorrow, but it's better than today. There's a 30 percent chance roughly that we'll have showers throughout the day, a low likelihood of lightning. We're going to resume Round 3 at 7:45 and what we'll do is with the time allotted, we'll just keep the groups together.
Q. No re‑pairing?
KEN TACKETT: No re‑pairing.
Q. Have all the Tour players been super nice to you today, Ken?
KEN TACKETT: Absolutely. Everybody knows that Mother Nature's undefeated. Your comments earlier were spot on.
Q. Ken, thanks for coming in. We look forward to getting this thing in tomorrow.
