| Two Top-30 World Golf Ranked Players Commit | |
| |
On Sunday, Andrew Landry, our 2018 champion, claimed his second career PGA TOUR victory at The American Express in Palm Springs, CA. Landry is one of eight tournament champions in the past decade who are currently committed to play this year, joining Corey Conners, Kevin Chappell, Charley Hoffman, Jimmy Walker, Martin Laird, Brendan Steele, and Zach Johnson.
The tournament has also received official commitments from Abraham Ancer and Lee Westwood.
Abraham Ancer, a San Antonio resident, was runner-up to Landry this past Sunday and is presently World No. 30. In December, Ancer became the first PGA TOUR player from Mexico to participate in The Presidents Cup, finishing the week with a 3-1-1 record for the International Team.
World No. 29 Lee Westwood also won on Sunday, capturing the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the European Tour. It was Westwood’s 25th career victory on that circuit. He will be playing the Valero Texas Open for the first time since the event moved to TPC San Antonio in 2010.

| Volunteers: Being A Part of Something BIG | |
| |
Was one of your New Year’s resolutions to volunteer this year or become more active in the community? Or you want to do something that helps raise funds and awareness to hundreds of worthy charities? Whatever the reason, we are looking for volunteering enthusiasts with a passion to help and together create a fantastic Valero Texas Open experience for PGA TOUR players, corporate sponsors and spectators alike.
The success of the Valero Texas Open is due in large part to the volunteers who give generously of their time, talent and energy through our dynamic committees. During the week, you'll make new friends, get a behind-the-scenes look at a PGA TOUR event and witness many of the world's top golfers as they compete right here in your back yard! You'll also play an important role in the tournament's charitable mission to raise funds and awareness for hundreds of worthy causes throughout San Antonio and the South Texas region.
Have a knack for being laser-focused and appreciate attention to detail? Join the ShotLink® committee and assist the PGA TOUR’s ShotLink® operations team while using the latest in technology from fairway lasers to tablet computers. Your services will provide real-time data and scoring of every shot made by the pros which will be prominently featured on PGATOUR.com, the PGA TOUR App and on the national and international television broadcasts.
Help us share some good ‘ol Texas hospitality with our sponsors, VIPs and spectators in some of the premier viewing areas around TPC San Antonio. The Hospitality committee provides a friendly, welcoming experience for guests as they arrive to the tournament – greeting them at the entrances of our hospitality venues throughout the course, checking for proper credentials, scanning their tickets and wristbanding them. Once guests are inside the venue, committee members help folks have an enjoyable time – helping them find a seat, navigating them to the bar and food service areas and even pointing them to the restrooms when necessary. As the saying goes, you’ll be the hostess with the mostess.
With so many options, it’s hard to choose just one! Here is just a handful of other committees you can join:
| Evacuation | | | Operations – Rapid Response | | | Pro/VIP Shuttles | |
| Gallery Control | | | Pro Vehicles | | | Standard Bearers | |
|
Valero Texas Open volunteers help showcase the best of San Antonio and Texas while helping to execute a world-class sporting, social and charity event. Click here to learn more about the various committees and to register today: ValeroTexasOpen.com.
