 | | Night to Honor Our Heroes presented by USAA | |
| |
The Valero Texas Open’s long-standing tradition of celebrating “Military City, USA” continues this year as active military, wounded veterans, and corporate supporters gather Friday night of tournament week on April 3 for this annual military appreciation banquet.
Tournament officials also announced today that a Night to Honor Our Heroes presented by USAA will feature World Golf Hall of Fame member Gary Player.
“I’m delighted to be returning to the Texas Open this year - an event I played three times during my career,” said Mr. Player. “But to be a part of the Night to Honor Our Heroes banquet and having the opportunity to show my support for the men and women of the armed forces, will be particularly gratifying.”
Guests can admire a rare collection of military artifacts and moving testimonials by engaging speakers, all the while socializing with military and business leaders in the community.
Attendees will leave with a heightened sense of patriotism after listening to moving testimonies by this year's featured speaker.
"We are proud to stand alongside the Valero Texas Open, which began its journey the same year USAA was founded in 1922," said USAA Vice President and Head of Brand Marketing Jen Escobar. "This partnership is a natural extension of our mission to take care of the military community, and it allows us to celebrate the sacrifices of our veterans and military families while showcasing our city's unwavering support for those who serve our nation."
If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please contact us at (210) 215-2532 or Craig@ValeroTexasOpen.com. Event proceeds will support military-focused charities and initiatives throughout the community.

 | | Ready to Volunteer? | |
| |
The success of the Valero Texas Open is due in large part to over 2,200 volunteers who give generously of their time, talent and energy through our dynamic committees. Volunteers play an important role in the tournament's charitable mission to raise funds and awareness for hundreds of worthy causes throughout San Antonio and the South Texas region.
We are looking for volunteering enthusiasts with a passion to help and together create a fantastic Valero Texas Open experience for PGA TOUR players, corporate sponsors and spectators alike. During the week, you'll make new friends, get a behind-the-scenes look at a PGA TOUR tournament and witness many of the world's top golfers as they compete right here in your back yard!
You will receive benefits as part of the Volunteer Program presented by Frost including grounds admission for a guest, complimentary beverages and food during your shifts, a volunteer polo & hat, tournament access all week, and more! Volunteers who work over 18 hours receive one transferable appreciation golf round and those who volunteer over 30 hours receive two rounds of golf at TPC San Antonio.
With so many options, it's hard to choose just one! Here are just a handful of committees you can join: Caddie Services, Gallery Management, Hospitality, Refreshers, and Tournament Ambassadors.
For those who have already registered to volunteer - thank you! If you haven't already registered, register by March 7 to secure your spot!
