 | | Champions fore Charity Kicks Off 30th Anniversary | |
| |
The Valero Texas Open is pleased to announce that over two hundred and sixty-five (265) charities and schools from San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Port Arthur, Corpus Christi and surrounding cities have registered thus far to participate in the annual fundraising campaign Champions fore Charity, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
This week kick-off luncheons were hosted in Houston and Corpus Christi, and nearly 400 representatives from participating charities, schools, and program sponsors gathered last Wednesday to network and get their program materials for the 2026-2027 fundraising campaign. Champions fore Charity program Ambassadors David Chancellor of WOAI's News 4 San Antonio, and Sarah Forgany of KENS's 5 News helped kick things off and get everyone excited about the new season. You could feel the energy in the air as everyone gathered to celebrate the campaign.
The fundraising program provides nonprofit organizations with an unique and engaging platform to solicit donations while keeping 100% of the funds raised plus incentives, including a 7% matching gift opportunity provided by the Valero Texas Open.
Individuals and corporations are encouraged to participate and support their favorite cause through Champions fore Charity, while knowing contributions are tax deductible and are maximized through the financial incentives the Valero Texas Open provides to participating organizations. The donation platform is dynamic, which provides donors a chance to search participating organizations by region as well as charitable mission. Donors can click to learn more about the organization including the fundraising goal and how funds will be used amongst other useful features to help tell the story of the charity and the services provided.
We are thankful for our charities and donors. Donors are champions fore supporting charities. Charities are champions fore supporting our community. Registration is still open for prospective charities and schools looking for a no-cost, zero-risk fundraising opportunity.
