Champions fore Charity Kicks Off New Season

The Valero Texas Open is pleased to announce that over one hundred and eighty (180) charities and schools from San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi and surrounding cities have registered thus far to participate in the annual fundraising campaign Champions fore Charity.

Participating charities, schools, and program sponsors gathered together last week to network and get their program materials for the 2021-2022 fundraising campaign. Champions fore Charity program Ambassadors Randy Carroll of KJ 97 and David Chancellor of WOAI’s News 4 San Antonio helped kick things off and get everyone excited about the new season. You could feel the energy in the air as everyone greeted one another after this past year’s virtual events.

The fundraising program provides nonprofit organizations with an unique and engaging platform to solicit donations while keeping 100% of the funds raised plus incentives, including a 7% matching gift opportunity provided by the Valero Texas Open.

Individuals and corporations from around the world are encouraged to participate and support their favorite cause through Champions fore Charity, while knowing contributions are tax deductible and are maximized through the financial incentives the Valero Texas Open provides to participating organizations. The donation platform is dynamic, which provides donors a chance to search participating organizations by region as well as charitable mission. Donors can click to learn more about the organization including the fundraising goal and how funds will be used amongst other useful features to help tell the story of the charity and the services provided.

We are thankful for our charities and donors. Donors are champions fore supporting charities. Charities are champions fore supporting our community. Registration is still open for prospective charities and schools looking for no-cost fundraising opportunities. Dash to the VTO – Registration is Open
Image
The annual Dash to the VTO presented by Humana Military will be held on Saturday, March 26 and will include a 5k and one-mile run/walk race around TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course. Given last year’s modifications for social distancing, we are excited to bring back the post-race party for this coming spring which will include food, drinks and post-race festivities.

It’s a chance for participants to get a sneak peek at the tournament layout prior to the PGA TOUR competition beginning later that week or to enjoy active time with friends and family in a beautiful environment. A fun event for the whole family, this race will also help raise funds and awareness for the Valero Texas Open’s Champions fore Charity fundraising campaign.

Race registration is now open. Visit www.ValeroTexasOpen.com for more details and to register.
