Five-Time PGA TOUR Winner to Play in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Valero Texas Open officials announced today a commitment from Rickie Fowler, a five-time PGA TOUR winner, who will be making his second consecutive appearance in San Antonio April 1-4. The tournament will be the final PGA TOUR stop prior to the year’s first major championship, the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA.
Fowler finished T17 in the 2019 Valero Texas Open. Last year’s edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Rickie is among the most recognizable and popular players in golf and we are thrilled he will be returning to the Alamo City in two weeks,” said Larson Segerdahl, Executive Director of the Valero Texas Open.
Fowler won the 2015 PLAYERS Championship and in 2014 finished among the top five in all four of golf’s major championships. He has played on four Ryder Cup teams and three Presidents Cup teams for the United States and was one of the top-ranked amateurs while playing at Oklahoma State University, prior to turning pro.
PGA TOUR players have until Friday, March 26 at 4:00 p.m. Central Time to commit and can withdraw at any time.
