Program Ambassador David Chancellor with WOAI News 4 and Program Ambassador Sarah Forgany with KENS 5 News were on-hand to help celebrate the charities hard work, mid-season achievements, and encourage the momentum to continue strong.

Champions fore Charity has raised over $15M to date, which is closing the gap to last year's overall record of $16.74M. Charities are striving to seek new donations before the 2025 fundraising campaign concludes on April 14. Drawing fore More Awareness

Throughout the campaign season, for every $500 worth of donations submitted, participating charities have earned one (1) entry into the "Drawing fore More Awareness". One random organization is drawn and selected by one of our program Ambassadors. The winning charity earns $2,500 and featured in one dedicated social media post on the Champions fore Charity Facebook page. There are six (6) drawings throughout the campaign season. Congratulations to the two charities from the February drawings. The final drawing deadline is this coming Monday, March 17.

Bexar STEMulate was drawn by Randy Carroll (KJ97) for drawing #4. Check out the video.

Drawing #5 took place at the Mid-Season Social and was a collaborative effort between David Chancellor (WOAI News 4) and Sarah Forgany (KENS 5 News) in which Ascension DePaul Services won. Check out the video.

Volunteering In Full Strides
The Valero Texas Open utilizes approximately 2,100 volunteers across twenty-four committees to assist in staging and managing the tournament through its Volunteer Program presented by Frost Bank. Nearly 700 Valero employees are part of this volunteer effort.

We are pleased to say that due to popular demand and community support, volunteer shifts are all full and registration for this year's tournament is now closed.

Volunteer Spotlight

This month's Volunteer Spotlight features 2024 "Tom Mabe Volunteer of the Year", Chuck Rosales. A member of the Walking Scorers committee, Chuck embodies the characteristics of dedication and commitment, passion for the game of golf, and giving of his time and energy annually. He performs very important tasks for the Walking Scorers committee and is trusted with highly critical responsibility without seeking recognition or attention which is a testament to his selflessness, character, charity, quiet leadership, and passion for the game of golf. He has been a dedicated Valero Texas Open volunteer for an impressive 38 years.

"The past 38 years have seemed to go by so quickly and kept me coming back as a volunteer, not only because I truly enjoy volunteering for this event, but additionally because of all the great people that have worked on the Tournament Leadership Council and all the co-volunteers I have had the pleasure of working with over the years" said Chuck upon being presented the award.

Tune in to the Valero Texas Open social media channels during tournament week for an exclusive interview with Chuck and the tournament social media host, Sara Diaz.
