Final Round Interview with Sean O’Hair

Q. Sean, what a great way to finish, chipping in for birdie there. Did you contemplate putting that at all? I mean, you made the right choice but looked like that was a nice lie for you.

SEAN O'HAIR: Yeah, I didn't really like how it felt with the putter. I asked my caddie what he liked and he liked the putter because it was down grain, but I didn't like how I couldn't judge the fringe very well. I've been chipping it pretty good this week and so I just trusted it and was fortunate to make it.

Q. What's it mean for you to shoot 6 under in a final round and your best finish this year on the PGA TOUR?

SEAN O'HAIR: You know, it feels really good. When I'm good I'm really good, and when I'm not good I'm not so good, so I've got to kind of get that a little bit better. But it's always nice to compete and be in the hunt, especially down the end there.

Q. Sean O'Hair, what a finish, 65-66 on the weekend. You tied for seventh in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, do what you did this week, how much confidence as a four-time winner trying to get that fifth going forward does this give you?

SEAN O'HAIR: That fifth has been hard to come by. I don't know, I think it's been about seven years now. I've had some close calls. I feel like my game's kind of coming into form a little bit, but this year's been a little bit erratic and I've just got to clean that up a bit. I've been driving it really well all year and I felt like this golf course really called for that, felt like if I could just hit a few more greens because this golf course is all about that as well, make a few putts, which is what I did, I was going to have a good week. You know, I think every week, though, it really just comes down to the putter. Even for me this week, I think if I putted a little bit better I probably would have had a better chance down the stretch.

Q. You put yourself in position though, you're talking about it being a little bit of an erratic season. Looking at the positives, what do you take away from the week?

SEAN O'HAIR: You know, seems to be that I always kind of find a way, which is nice. I think when you look at my whole career, it's just kind of up and down, up and down, but I'm not a quitter and I always am trying to grind it out. So I feel like I'm on a good kind of momentum here, getting some momentum going and hopefully get some confidence and just finish off the year in style.
